Take a springtime walk in the city of Kawagoe, “Little Edo”

Thirty minutes away by train from Ikebukuro Station in central Tokyo is a district that still has streets lined with medieval warehouses. It is in the city of Kawagoe, which is called “Little Edo” because it retains the atmosphere of the old shogunate capital.
We recommend visitors to tour Kawagoe in a kimono, by walking the streets while eating local treats. Enjoy Kawagoe in spring to your heart’s content!

Board the KO-EDO Loop Bus on the Kitain route at the E5 bus stop and get off at the E14 bus stop.Board the bus at Fukujin Bridge and get off at Honjo-Azuma Bridge or Kototoi Bridge (Toei Bus). From there you can walk to Sumida Park in about 30 minutes. If the weather is fair, it may be a good idea to walk all the way to the Park.

Satte Gongendo Park

This is an excellent spot for flower viewing from March to early April in the average year.
About 1,000 cherry trees bloom in Gongendo Park, while canola flowers bloom on the adjacent dike.

Tobu Zoo

Tobu Zoo is a fun-filled leisure facility with a zoo and amusement park.
The zoo has 1,200 animals of 120 different species, including the rare white tiger.
