Tsuruga-jo Castle is a symbol of Aizuwakamatsu City. Here you can see beautiful seasonal scenery, from the cherry blossoms in spring to the fall leaves in autumn. In the winter, you can enjoy the pure white appearance as snow piles up on the castle’s roof. Throughout all four seasons, the castle is lit up beautifully at night. It is also open on midnight of the first day of the New Year, so it’s a great idea to visit the castle to start off the new year! The winter scenery viewed from the trains is also quite exceptional.
