The severe topography and weather at the Tanigawa mountain range precipitate heavy snowfall, which produces the finest powder snow at the ski resort.
Visitors can enjoy themselves on a wide variety of courses ranging from beginners to expert level.Another attractive feature of this resort is its long season that runs from the middle of December to the beginning of May (scheduled)!
Access: Kanetsu Kotsu buses are operated from Jomo Kogen Station (Joetsu Shinkansen), and Minakami Station on the JR Joetsu Line to Minakami Onsen Resort.

After getting off the ropeway, visitors are treated to the view of a wide and flat 50 hectare ski resort with gentle ski slopes spreading out in front of them.
This ski resort is surrounded by magnificent mountains with heights of approximately 2,000 meters. The two prominent peaks of Mt. Tanigawadake, the nearest mountain from the ski resort, are covered with snow and look fantastic during the winter season.
The Tajirizawa Course below the ropeway opens when weather conditions permit, and visitors can enjoy a long approximately 3 kilometer course from the Tenjin Mountain Pass.

The ski resort opens at the beginning of December every year.
Gondolas operate approximately every 3 minutes and the ride time is approximately 15 minutes one way (7 minutes on the fastest gondola).
A rental service is available for snowboards and other equipment. While enjoying the back country that spreads out beyond the slopes, please be sure to follow the rules.

Foreign visitors to the area can purchase tickets that can be used in the Minakami area. This pass is very reasonably priced and enables holders to freely get on and off buses in the area.
