In most years, late March is cherry blossom season throughout Japan. Gongendo Park, located in Satte City in Saitama, boasts around 1,000 blooming cherry blossom trees along its embankment, which stretches for 1km. The cherry blossom trees look like a tunnel. Rapeseed flowers also bloom next to the embankment, and the contrast between their yellow colors and the pale pink of the cherry blossoms is strikingly beautiful. During the Cherry Blossom Festival, street stalls open, and the park is crowded with visitors looking at the cherry blossoms. This year’s festival is planned to be held from March 25th to April 9th.
