Now is the best time to see them! Introducing a spot for viewing hydrangea flowers

  • Other Destinations

It’s now June – the time Japan enters its rainy season. Hydrangea flowers are a representative flower of this rainy season
The path leading to Ohirasan Shrine, located in Tochigi City in Tochigi Prefecture, has a spot called “Ajisai-zaka” (Hydrangea hill) where you can see Hydrangea flowers.
On the 1000-step stairway on the path leading to the shrine, around 2,500 of these flowers bloom, including Western hydrangeas, lacecap hydrangeas, and mountain hydrangeas.
The best time to see the hydrangea flowers is from late June to around early July. Be sure to check out the hydrangeas here, which can only be seen during the rainy season.
