The Kawagoe Festival will be held in Kawagoe City on October 14 and 15, 2023!
It is said to be the largest event every year in Kawagoe - also known as Little Edo due to its traditional sights. The festival is registered as a UNESCO Intangible World Heritage.
The biggest highlight of the Kawagoe Festival is called the “Hikkawase.” It involves musical band and dance competitions when parade floats encounter each other, letting visitors enjoy a powerful climax.
In particular, the Hikkawase in the evening has the parade float pullers hold up lanterns, with the cheers of visitors filling the air, bringing the festival mood to its peak.
