Limited Express Ticket Refunds

Please request limited express ticket refunds at a Tobu Railway station or at the travel agency which sold you the ticket(s).

Refund Processing

If you request a refund prior to your scheduled departure time for a limited express ticket(s) at a Tobu Railway station or the travel agency which sold you the ticket(s), your money will be refunded with a ¥100 processing fee deducted (¥420 processing fee in the case of a SPACIA compartment reservation departing from a Tobu line station). 

Refunds for Limited Express Tickets Between Shinjuku and Tobu-nikko/Kinugawa-onsen Stations

Refund requests made at least 2 days prior to the departure date require a processing fee of ¥340, which is deducted from the refund amount. Refund requests made less than 2 days prior to the departure date require a processing fee equivalent to 30% of the ticket price (rounded down to the nearest ten yen), with a minimum processing fee of ¥340 for amounts whose 30%, rounded-down figure is less than ¥340.

Limited Express Ticket + Compartment Ticket Combinations for Trains Traveling Between Shinjuku and Tobu-nikko/Kinugawa-onsen Stations

Refund requests made at least 2 days prior to the departure date require a processing fee of ¥340, which is deducted from the refund amount. Refund requests made less than 2 days prior to the departure date require a processing fee equivalent to 30% of the ticket price (rounded down to the nearest ten yen). However, a minimum processing fee of ¥340 applies for amounts whose 30%, rounded-down figure is less than ¥340.

Limited Express Ticket In-station Refund Eligibility

Tickets Purchased from a Travel Agency

Any limited express ticket purchased from a travel agency with a refund authorization stamp can be refunded as usual (with applicable processing fees) at a Tobu Railway station.

Tickets Sold as Part of a Tour Package (With No Ticket Price Shown)

If the ticket(s) has a refund authorization stamp, please bring the ticket(s) to the travel agency from which you purchased it and inquire regarding your refund. (Because terms and conditions differ by agency and transaction, Tobu Railway cannot issue a refund according to standard procedures.)
Please request a limited expressed ticket refund authorization stamp(s) at a Tobu Railway station prior to your scheduled departure time.

Limited Express Tickets Purchased via the Online Reservation and Purchasing Service

If your train has not yet departed, you may request a refund by individual train for any limited express train tickets purchased via the online reservation and purchasing service.
A refund processing fee of ¥100 per reserved seat refunded will be deducted, and the remaining amount refunded to the credit card used to make the initial limited express ticket reservation.
Once the refund process has been completed, you will receive a notification e-mail.
In the event that the reserved train was not operated due to an accident or other such incident, your purchase will be refunded to your credit card with no processing fee deducted on the day following the reservation date or later.

Ticket-free Limited Express Reservations

If your train has not yet departed, you may request a refund from the member's menu on the Tobu Mobile Net Service website.
A refund processing fee of ¥100 per reserved seat refunded will be deducted, and the remaining amount refunded to your registered credit card used to make the initial limited express ticket reservation.
Once the refund process has been completed, you will receive a notification e-mail.
In the event that the reserved train was not operated due to an accident or other such incident, your purchase will be refunded to your credit card with no processing fee deducted on the day following the reservation date or later. In this case, no refund procedures are required on the customer side.
