TOBU TREASURE GARDEN

Enjoy nearly 1 million flowers of 4,000 types – including many beautiful roses and 1,000 other kinds of flowers - in Tatebayashi, a historical town known for its rich nature.

Tobu Treasure Garden is located in Tatebayashi city in the east of Gunma prefecture. The approximately 80,000 m2 garden features peach blossom, a flower used for Japan’s "Girl's Festival", that starts blooming from the end of March. At the beginning of April, cherry blossom and the famous moss phlox start blooming, Visitors can also enjoy views of flower fields filled with 800,000 flowers of various types, including nemophila. The ideal period to view roses is from the beginning of May until the end of June when you nearly 3,000 roses of 1,500 different types come out in full bloom together with a range of perennial plants.

At Morinji Temple in Tatebayashi, a teapot-shaped artwork is featured that has been handed down. It is said that you can find happiness just by patting it, just like the one in "Bunbuku Chagama” (bewitched teapot), an old Japanese story. The name of our symbolic rose is "Sharing Happiness", named after the word "Bunbuku", meaning “sharing happiness” in Japanese. Visitors can check out a Gothic style "Sts. Peter & Paul's Church" in one corner of the garden and dine at a nearby restaurant that uses local ingredients.
